Passive Population Gain

I think that population should passively increase, because bowchicabowow and honestly.. you'd think that in a city of 10,000 that at least a tenth of those people are having a child or multiple children. I don't know, but that might be a cool idea to add into the game. In this point in the game you'd think that this game mechanic would be already incorporated, but it would be something cool to see added, What are your thoughts?

well some of the population having children would be a good "random event", but if you have the population just increasing all the time you would have to keep build homes and food buildings to keep up with the demands.

I agree, I mean this is a place that just survived the apocalypse what do you thing people do for fun or enjoyment? It's not like they have tv or anything else electronic to do. Maybe some sports but I think the people would want something more. Lmao, alright you guys can start yelling at my response in two seconds. I know all the cons of this but I just couldn't help it, I needed to agree :P

What if it was just a 10% increase every week or a 1% increase.. or something small like that, or it only happened every couple weeks, because lets face it, it does take a while for children to come into this world.. keeping this (PG+13-rated).

ya, im not against the idea, and it makes sense. i'm up for implementing it i just dont want it to be too much. one thing that could be done is that it is only implement it on the experienced "map" for now and see how it goes, or just keep it there and that becomes the main difference between experienced and beginner.

Hmm, I know that everyone's weighing the pro/cons in their heads. But, as I always like to do in these forums, I stand with the current format and devs decisions to date. Yeah the population may multiply but, what about random infections diseases and well, death due to old age. The rate of death is bound to be at a minimum at least stride for stride with the population increases due to things suck as procreation. These people don't have a lot of time on their hands do they? Ha, I like to imagine my outbreak world similar to that of TWD, of course because I love that show and second the world as it stands in outbreak are similar in many ways in my mind to the world in Alexandria, and babies are rare. As death is not. But hey that's just my thoughts. I mean I know we don't have zombies but WOLVES NOT FAR! :) muahaha -Kansas 1

I think that this would be best.I mean lets be honest,When a mommy and daddy like each other very much they are gonna have a baby. There is bound to be few couples in a colony of 1k. Because in irl if you would be surviving you would need new houses as your community grows. Not just when you bring ppl in

@Un_Stoppable makes a good (and a very logical) point.

We'd have to eventually recover, I doubt that we wouldn't spring back, what with all the resources available and being able to have infinite resources, I doubt that we wouldn't be able to have a population increase. Possibly when you have a food surplus Your population would increase, that's what happens in real life. Food surplus = increased population or prosperity leads to population increase.
