How do Trenches Work?

- I understand the basic concept of trenches, defending Troops & Civilians from Mortar Fire.

But I would like to know HOW Many Troops a Trench Protects, how many Civilians a Trench Protects, I would like to know, for obvious reasons. Any help & explanation would be great, Thanks!

Tis a good question. Does anyone know how much defence a trench provides anyway?

I don't know if a trench holds a certain number of troops or if it protects a certain percent of total troops. Too bad I can't give an exact answer but I can give some advise. Trenches, in my opinion, works best in increments of 5.
Example: 10 trenches and mortars kill 40 solders, 11-12 trenches and mortars kill 37 solders, 13-14 trenches and mortars kill 34, and finally with 15 trenches only about 30 soldiers would get killed.
I don't know if that helps anyone. But like what I said, trenches in increments of 5 works best for me.

Well, with those numbers is seems that 1 trench protects around 3 soldiers, i'd assume anyways.
